Hey everyone, I'm Kressy. I'm 14 and I dance everyday for at least two hours. I'm very new to blogging, so I hope you'll excuse my poor updates and content value. My goal is to show the world what its like to be 14 in high school worrying about college and if you really want be that second grade teacher or if you want to dance.
I'm an honors student, like most dancers, and I take classes well above my level. Along these dance updates you'll find complaints or laments about my busy schedule and lack of a place for homework.
The WV Dance Festival in in two weeks. My studio has put together a piece I love and dance in. There are very few moments when I am not onstage. I have duets two times with our male lead Nathan and one lift. I am trying to perfect this dance. Each time I complete it, I find more things to pick on and fix and I cannot complete the dance without feeling as though I could do better or be less out of breath. For our recital, our studio has selected to dance Paquita. Of the pieces we have selected, I take one duet with another dancer. I am the youngest dancer to be selected for a duet. I take advanced class two hours a day, six days a week. The maximum for my studio. Last year, I danced five hours a day, six hours a week at my hometown studio. (I moved here this year.) I also won the Terri Vaught Scholarship last year, the highest medal of my hometown studio. I allow you to judge the caliber of my work. I am choreographing a piece as a birthday present for my friend, and looking into dance high schools I can transfer to next year.
